Why First Aid?
Planning to get your driving licence and still need a first aid course? In our course you will learn the key measures to respond safely and calmly in emergencies – practical, easy to understand, and focused on real-life situations in everyday life and traffic.
What to expect
The course consists of 9 teaching units of 45 minutes each and takes place as a compact full-day course. A mix of theory and hands-on exercises prepares you thoroughly. At the end you will receive a certificate of participation that you can use for your driving licence documents.

Course Contents
- Securing the scene, making an emergency call, organising help
- Identifying and avoiding hazards (e.g. electricity, traffic, surroundings)
- Checking vital signs, recognizing unconsciousness, recovery position
- Breathing difficulties, circulatory problems and choking: immediate measures
- Wounds, severe bleeding and shock: initial treatment
- Head, bone and joint injuries: recognition and immobilization
- Burns, hypothermia and frostbite: correct response
- Heat-related emergencies such as sunstroke, exhaustion, heat stroke
- Poisoning and chemical burns: what to do (and what not to do)
- Low blood sugar and seizures: signs and how to help
- Acute illnesses (e.g. heart attack, stroke, asthma): warning signs & actions
- AED/defibrillator: basic principles and safe use
Important Information
Older short-format courses (e.g. "LSM") have been replaced by the current first aid course with 9 teaching units. If you already hold an older certificate, its acceptance may vary from one authority to another. If in doubt, please check with your local driving licence office beforehand.
